Happy Singh is a timid young man whose father is a Punjabi and his mother, a Malayalee. He feels attracted to Mary but unable to express his love for her. Happy’s friend Sharaf falls in love with Pammi (Mary’s friend). As Sharaf and Pammi both belong to different communities, they decide to elope and marry. In a twist of fate, Happy and Mary are forced to accompany the lovers earning the wrath of their parents. How both the couples sort out all the tangles with the families and break all the social prejudices to finally let love triumph forms the gist of the story. It is also a coming-of-age story of Happy, who turns from a timid guy scared to speak his mind to a confident young man ready to take on the world.
